How it works: With every Photoshoot and Products purchased, MC Photography LLC will reciprocate by sponsoring and helping to empower women from around the world specifically from the Philippines by lending money to help create opportunity to start up or fund small business or livelihood. Agriculture is a prominent business in the provinces of the Philippines including fishing, livestock, etc. The following are examples of how a small amount can make a big difference (the ripple effect):
- to buy a volume of fish sauce all the way from Pangasinan
- to buy materials and equipments for (nipa) roofing business
- to buy additional feed and vitamins for pigs (swine business)
- to pay for grocery items, toiletries, and beverages needed in “sari-sari store” business
- to buy one roll of fabric for dress-making business
- to purchase additional vegetables and spices to sell at wet market food stalls
- to buy spare parts for maintenance of fishing boat
- to buy pesticide for farm
MC Photography LLC’s goal is to reach 100 recipients in 5 years! That would be fun and exciting to reach such a milestone and be able to help a lot of women in the Philippines fund their business. 
Meet the Recipients
Josephine from Caliat Quezon, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines Retail
Josephine from Caliat Quezon, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines Retail Josephine Josephine is engaged in selling fish sauce in their village. In order to expand the business, she is asking for a loan to buy a volume of fish sauce all the way from Pangasinan, a place famous for delicious “bagoong” (fish sauce). She has been doing the business for thirteen years now. She is earning a net income of PHP 1,000 weekly from selling the fish sauce and uses it to provide school allowances for her children. She is now 49 years old, widowed, with eight children, two of whom are currently studying. She hopes to continue to support the studies of her children so they will able to use it in the search for better job opportunities.
Marina Magdalena from Cabatuan, Isabela, Philippines Food | Fish Selling
Marina, aged 60, is married to a company laborer and is blessed with seven children. She has been selling fish in their village for almost five years and earns a net income of PHP 300 per day. Her profits are usually spent on their food allowances. Due to insufficient funds, she would like to avail herself of a loan amounting to PHP 8,000 to purchase fish to sell. She’s hoping that her requested loan will be granted, so that she can improve her business and become more profitable.
Carina from Roxas City, Capiz, Philippines Food | Fish Selling
Carina works hard to support her family. She is single. She has a business making and selling dried fish in the Philippines. Carina requested a 7,000 PHP loan through NWTF in order to buy more fish for making dried fish. She has been in this business for three years now. She also earns additional income from food vending. In the future, Carina would like to save money to expand her business.
Estrella from Magassi, Cabagan, Isabela, Philippines Agriculture | Pigs
Estrella is a hardworking woman from Maggasi. She lives together with her husband and five children. She is engaged in pig breeding. She currently keeps one mother pig and five piglets. Near the house where Estrella and her family live, they also own a plot of arable land where wheat and some grass is cultivated. Although in Estrella’s family, she is not the only person employed, agribusiness is the main income that sustains the family. Now, Estrella asks for this loan of PHP 10,000 to purchase three piglets and forage for the livestock.
Rebecca from Sampaloc, Cabatuan, Isabela, Philippines Services | Internet Cafe

Rebecca is 49 years of age, married to a government employee, and blessed with three children. She owns and manages an internet cafe in their village. In this business, she’s earning a net income of PHP 1,000 daily. Due to insufficient funds in their business, she would like to avail of a loan amounting to PHP 45,000 to purchase four brand new computers for her internet cafe. She’s hoping that her business will continue to grow and become more profitable.
Juliet from Brgy. Comon, Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines Food | Fruits & Vegetables

Juliet and her family live in a rural community. She is 39 years old and has three school-aged children. She buys and sells fruit and vegetables and her husband works on their farm. She aims to make her business more profitable in order to satisfy the necessities of her family and educate her children. Due to insufficient capital, she wants to borrow 20,000.00 PHP to purchase potatoes, tomatoes, beans, squash, eggplant, cabbages\, and onions to sell. Juliet is a patient and industrious mother who believes that she will make her business profitable.
Julie Ane from Brgy. Magsaysay, Bayombong , Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines Food | Fish Selling

Julie Ane is a diligent mother who engages in a fish vending business to help her husband in gaining income. She is 30 years old and has three kids. With the help of her husband, Julie Ane believes that someday, they will improve their status of living. She aims to continue and improve her business, but she has insufficient capital. For this reason, she wants a loan of PHP 5,000 to buy more stock of fish to sell. Being a hardworking mother, she believes that she will make her business more profitable.
Adelina from Brgy. Paniki, Bagabag,Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines Food | Food Production/Sales

Adelina is a hardworking mother who has been engaged in cooking and selling snack foods within the school campus, and in her community. She is 54 years old and and has five children. Three of them are still attending school.
Due to high cost of commodities and school fees, Adelina needs to earn a higher income in order to help her husband in meeting the costs of their family. She wants to cook and sell more types of snack, but she has limited capital.

She usually earns 10,000 Philippine pesos (PHP) monthly and uses it for school expenses. She would like to improve her sales but has insufficient funds to buy more ingredients for the food stall. Francisca is now asking for a loan of PHP 50,000 to buy vegetables, meat, and other ingredients to cook and sell. She hopes to continue selling delicious foods so she will acquire more customers and earn more profits. Someday, she hopes to construct a more convenient stall. [/box]

Marivic is 43 years old and blessed with six children. Despite the the hardship of living, she and her husband aimed to educate their children and give them a better living. With regard to this, Marivic has been engaged in buying and reselling fruits and vegetables within the local community to generate income. To further improve her business, she would like to access financial assistance of PHP10,000 from Kiva lenders to buy more fruits, vegetables, sugar and rice to sell. Being a kind and diligent mother, she believes that she will further improve her business.
